Winter Smoothie

Winter is my favorite time to rejuvenate with smoothies. Smoothies are the perfect substitute for those who do not like to take vitamins because you can pack a lot of nutrition in to one delicious serving. In general, I have a hate-love relationship with Winter and smoothies, but I have found a happy medium for both during the cold season.

I am an avid snowboarder so, of course, I love when the winter season hits because that’s the first sign for snow! On the other hand, Winter is my least favorite because the weather is unpredictable and the days are shorter. I love the daylight as much as I love living so, when California’s time change for Winter comes around and the entire state ‘falls back’ I mutter numerous sighs.

Smoothies are my special way to lift my spirit in good health and taste on the cold and dreary days. I’ve noticed that I can drink a complete meal in the form of a smoothie and still be hungry! During the winter, however I am less likely to insist that I follow my smoothie (lunch for the day) with more calories from substance foods like breads or choice meats. Most people are surprised when they hear this because summer is hot – a time when less eating is favored due to the heat and skimpy worn attire along the coastline. Not for me! This thought process never comes in to play when a smoothie is top choice for lunch during summer….I can’t explain it. so, I just don’t do it! Otherwise, I’ll be eating double the amount of calories without hesitation.

My Winter Smoothie recipe was created with the intent to rejuvenate the body so, that you feel healthier from the inside-out. It’s packed with ‘green’ nutrition and afternoon caloric goals (lunch meal) based on a daily value of 2,000 calories for the average woman. That’s just the fruits and vegetables, I’ve also added a boost of youthH2O for a non-caffeinated way to increase and boost my energy levels. youthH2O also provides immunity support from the various cold and flu viruses that are active during this time of year. I tend to add youthH2O in with all my smoothies; it’s a balanced way to keep my health and skin looking great all year round. It’s affordable too, or I wouldn’t do it! I believe in finding a healthy lifestyle that fits within my budget. youthH2O is constantly having deals on their product like BOGO’s or 50% off so, it keeps it inexpensive all year round, especially if you can afford to stock up your savings!

Winter Smoothie Recipe:

– 1 1/2 cups water

– 1/2 Papaya

– 1 cup Pineapple

– 10% Romaine Lettuce

– 2 ounces of youthH2O

– 1/2 Avocado
