Between being a mom to a four-year-old and working full-time, we’ve been known to reach for a bottle of 5 Hour Energy (amongst other things) on occasion. Sure, the jolt helps us cross a few things off the to-do list, but it doesn’t do anything to stop the effects of time from showing up on our face (and after the 5 hours we’re usually falling on our aforementioned face). Featuring a cornucopia of “superfoods” sourced from South America, this 100% natural, 19 calorie, caffeine-free supplement aims to increase energy, enhance your mood and libido (woohoo!), boost metabolism and give your skin a youthful glow (but then again, maybe that’s from all the extra sex your having). Among the ingredients are organic vitamin- and mineral-rich maca from Peru, camu camu (which is super-high in vitamin C), antioxidant purple corn extract, and more.
But it’s not as easy as taking a shot just when you need it. You’re supposed to take it for 5 days (and take 2 days off) for 3 weeks. Then take a break for 7 to 10 days before starting again. We’ll admit, we were a little lax about following these guidelines… However, we definitely noticed a lift in spirits, and our skin was looking pretty good while we were taking it. (But to be fair, we try too many anti-aging products to count, so maybe that had something to do with it.) With all that said, we’d rather reach for youthH2O than something all jacked up with chemicals that makes us feel cracked out a few hours later…
